About Me
I am Cosimo Pilotto, a licensed physiotherapist based in Italy with over 30 years of hands-on clinical experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Since 1992, I have treated thousands of patients dealing with spinal conditions, joint disorders, tendon injuries, post-surgical recovery, and chronic pain.
What This Website Is
MyPhysioHelp is a free, independent resource with 740+ articles covering musculoskeletal conditions, rehabilitation protocols, and evidence-based treatment options. No paywalls, no sponsored content disguised as advice.
Every article is built on peer-reviewed research — Cochrane reviews, PubMed-indexed studies, and international clinical guidelines. Where the evidence is limited or conflicting, I say so. Where my clinical experience adds context that research alone does not capture, I label it clearly so you always know the difference.
Why I Built This
Too many patients arrive at their appointments misinformed — scared by worst-case scenarios from forums, or misled by supplement marketing dressed up as medical advice. I created this website to bridge the gap between clinical knowledge and what people actually find when they search for their symptoms online.
This is not a substitute for professional medical care. It is a tool to help you understand your condition, ask better questions, and make informed decisions alongside your healthcare provider.
Credentials
Registered physiotherapist since 1992, member of FNOFI (Italy’s national federation of physiotherapist professional boards), registration number 4460 — OFI Milano. This is the Italian equivalent of state licensure for physical therapists.
Clinical specialization areas:
- Post-surgical rehabilitation (joint replacements, ACL reconstruction, spinal surgery)
- Spinal conditions (disc herniation, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, chronic low back pain)
- Manual therapy and myofascial techniques
- Sports rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols
- TMJ disorders and occlusion-posture correlations
The Primary Kinetic Chain Protocol
Over three decades of clinical practice, I developed an assessment approach based on a simple observation: the site of pain rarely matches its root cause. Persistent neck pain may originate from scapular dysfunction. Knee pain may trace back to the hip or ankle.
The Primary Kinetic Chain Protocol evaluates the full biomechanical chain to identify the actual driver of the problem — not just the symptom.
